Anita holds her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Studies with a minor in Human Services, and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling, both from California State University, Fullerton. Anita has worked with children and families for nearly twenty years: seven years in the classroom at a preschool, and twelve years in non-profits as a therapist and Program Manager. She has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for five years. Her training is focused on evidence based practices with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and school readiness, especially in younger children ages 0-5. Her approach with parents is centered on their engagement, involvement and empowerment. Her experience also spans special education and working with children with depression, anxiety, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder and children on the autism spectrum. Anita is passionate about empowering parents to better understand themselves and their children, with a focus on building strong relationships as a foundation for a healthy and happy life.
