Anita Cleare is a parenting speaker, writer and coach and co-founder of the Positive Parenting Project.
With an academic background in developmental psychology (child development), Anita specialises in supporting working parents to balance successful careers with being the parent their child needs.
Her practical approach helps parents cut through the fads and fashions of parenting advice and focus on how modern parents can apply simple evidence-based approaches in ways that work.
An accredited Triple P® parenting facilitator, Anita has been working with parents for 17 years. Before founding the Positive Parenting Project in 2012, she worked for a local authority children’s services, setting up and managing specialist family support services including Sure Start children’s centres, parent helplines, teenage pregnancy prevention projects and intensive family support services.
Anita has a talent for helping parents step back and reflect on parent-child dynamics and implement small changes that make a huge difference. Her award-nominated parenting blog ‘Thinking Parenting’ (see below) has been listed in the Sunday Times Magazine as a must-read for parents. Her first book ‘The Work/Parent Switch: How to parent smarter not harder’ will be published by Vermilion Books in April 2020.
